In 2025 a number of European countries will introduce road toll updates. The aim is to offset inflation, promote sustainable transport and reduce the environmental footprint. These changes will significantly affect transport companies and their operating costs.
Major changes by country
Switzerland 🇨🇭: A 5% increase in tolls that will apply to all vehicles passing through the country.
Poland 🇵🇱: Fees to rise by 3% in response to inflation.
Hungary 🇭🇺: Increase in the range of 2.5%-3.4%, depending on vehicle category and route.
Czech Republic 🇨🇿: Increase of the CO₂ component by between 2% and 3.5% for high emission vehicles.
Belgium (Wallonia) 🇧🇪: Indexation with an average of +2.86% based on the August 2024 consumer index.
